“Amanda Black is by far the best graphic designer DPAC has worked with since we opened in 2008. She is incredibly creative and resourceful, extremely organized and always dependable. With many shows being added to our line-up weekly and so many people involved in the approval process for Broadway shows, Amanda is fast and able to accommodate everyone’s needs.”

Linda Charlton, Director of Marketing
DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center
Durham, NC

In 1998, I began my career as a Graphic Designer at University Directories in Chapel Hill, NC, working on 100+ campus telephone directories for colleges across the nation. After graduating from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1999 with a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communication and a focus in Graphic Design, I continued working at University Directories as a Graphics Manager.

In 2001, I went to work for S&A Cherokee in Cary, NC, where I worked on various publications, conference events and client-based projects for 7 years. Among the publications I worked on were Auto Remarketing News Magazine, NC Magazine, NC Farm Bureau Magazine, Cary Magazine, Cary Business Magazine, Triangle East Magazine and Garner Business Magazine.

I acquired clients on my own time over the years, and in 2008 I decided to pursue my career as an Independent Graphic Design Professional. With my experience in the Triangle area of North Carolina, I have established many relationships with printers, photographers and other vendors not only in North Carolina, but nationwide as well.
